This suburban hideaway on the outskirts of Madison is a 92-unit apartment building and detached clubhouse designed with a lodge aesthetic. The site’s steep slope from northwest to southeast made for some creative solutions to designing within the constraints of the building codes. We split this four-story building into two halves separated by a firewall to meet the dual challenge of the slope and code compliance.
